Random

Here is Peyton eating rice cereal for her first time. I was about a month ago but I thought I would post it. She loves it.

Peyton wore herself out rolling and playing on the floor. What a cute little girl!
Unfortunately, I didn't have the same luck with Parker. This is a picture of him when he is suppose to be napping.

Parker has been ready to potty train for quite awhile now but with four kids and a busy schedule I didn't know how to do it. My cousin, Kendra told me to try this book.
I had tried this method with Gabe but for several reasons this method just didn't work with him. I decided to give it a try. I didn't think for one second that it would actually work. I read the book for about a week and got the supplies I would need and got all ready. Matt took the kids to my parents house so Parker and I could be alone. We worked very hard and it took a whole SIX hours for him to be potty trained. When I say potty trained I mean going to the potty by himself, emptying the potty chair pot into the toilet and flushing. Yeah!!!! He didn't have any accidents for 7 days and then had two days of wetting his pants Friday and Saturday. Ahh. I talked to my cousin and she said that happens to most kids - almost like they are testing to see if we will follow through with our part. He hasn't had an accident since Saturday afternoon. I am so excited to have it done. I am so proud of him. Anyways this is a picture of Parker after his hard potty training day. He worked so hard and was just so tired he fell asleep watching Kung Fu Panda.

MaKyra's Haircut

Before
After.
You can't really tell how cute it is but it is very cute. She just got a chin length bob. I will have to take a picture when her hair is fixed.

Update!

My camera batteries have been dead so I haven't been able to load any pictures to my computer. So I took care of it and here is the update.

Peyton got her helmet last week. Hopefully she won't have to wear it too long. It is cuter than I thought it would be but in the end it is still a helmet. Gabe thought it was so funny. He asked if Peyton could wear her helmet on the lawn mower. I think he thought it was like a 4-wheeling helmet which by the way he has never wore to mow the lawn. MaKyra said, "It is cuter than I thought but she is cuter without it. I think she looks like a hard boiled head." Nice.

Two weeks ago I was in my room when I heard a THUD! Parker started to cry. I called to him to come to my room thinking a hug and kiss would solve it all. He walked in and his face was covered in blood. AHH! I cleaned him up and found his little battle wound. It seemed pretty deep so off to the hospital we went. The doctor said it went right to the skull. Yuck! After he was numbed the doctor proceeded to put his finger in the wound and felt around (I think to check if the skull was cracked.) I about passed out. I don't do so well with blood stuff. Anyways, he received to stitches inside and four outside. Oh, every time some one asks what happened he said, "I run a wall." Gabe watched it happen and just kept saying, "It was amazing. It was amazing." Brothers are so sympathetic.

At the hospital, they gave him this bear for being so brave. He saw it and said, "No that bear a scary bear." He wanted nothing to do with it. I made him at least take a picture with it before giving it to a new home. I thought it was kind of cute.

My dad's birthday was a couple of weeks ago. Mom wanted to send Dad on a little treasure hunt. I told Mom I would take care of it. Shilo and I put it together and thought it would be fun to surprise them and drive them around. It was so fun. We sent them to places all over to pick up a fun treat or gift.

My parents were so surprised to see Shilo and I pull up to escort them around town. It was such a great day.

The day before Valentine's I invited some friends and their kids over for a Valentine's party. It was so fun. We decorated Valentine boxes and sugar cookie hearts. My friend, Katie, did a cake walk for the kids. It was so fun. The kids had Valentine's to give to each other and they all loved it.

Peyton's helmet

Peyton has a flat head. Flat enough she is going to get a helmet to help reshape it. I feel so bad for her but I would feel worse if she was in junior high and still had a flat head. We went in on Thursday to cast her head so they can make the helmet. She didn't really enjoy it and was thrilled to have it taken off. Her helmet should arrive in the next couple weeks.

When workouts don't work out.

Today I was running on my treadmill and all was well. I was watching a show with my ipod on and completely out of touch with the world outside my bedroom walls. Why would I need to be? Peyton was sleeping and Gabe and Parker were sitting nicely watching the movie I put on with instructions to play nice while I exercised. I was very excited to have such a good run. I was headed out to the living room to do some abs, opened my door and saw something fly out of Parker's hand and hit the wall. I looked around the room and to my horror saw eggs splattered everywhere. One dozen eggs thrown around the room and smashed into the carpet. Luckily four of the eggs were still in their shells with just a little leak. Gabe and Parker also got out the raisins and dumped them everywhere. The mustard and ketchup were in the living room as well. Fortunately they couldn't get the lids open. Here are some pictures. I did have two eggs on my couch and several on the wall and carpet. The boys sat in their room while I cleaned. I think Gabe thought it was pretty funny. Parker felt pretty bad. He just cried and cried. I wish I felt more bad for him but I couldn't.

Sleeping Babes

I just thought these pictures were cute.

I made these name blocks for my kids bedrooms. I am very proud of myself. I am less than crafty, so this is a huge accomplishment.

Happy New Year!

We had a pretty crazy holiday season. It was very busy and very fun. Along with Christmas parties, we had Gabe's 5th birthday, MaKyra's 7th birthday and Peyton's baby blessing. Between parties, sledding, and Christmas we had a great time. For the first time we stayed home Christmas morning. It was so nice and relaxing. It just became such a hastle to pack all the gifts to one of our parents' houses. We did spend Christmas Eve at my parent's house, came home for Christmas and headed to Matt's parents house the next day. It was a great holiday. I hope you all had a great holiday.
